Mehmet Akif Ersoy and the Adoption of the National Anthem

Following the decision of the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly to make 2021 the "Year of the National Anthem", all public institutions and organizations are organizing events throughout the year to commemorate the acceptance of the National Anthem and Mehmet Akif Ersoy in order to explain the meaning of the national anthem and the importance of the War of Independence.

Within the scope of the events organized at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ), a program on Mehmet Akif Ersoy and the Acceptance of the National Anthem was held on ÇOMÜ TV. 

In the program moderated by Prof. Dr. Reyhan Körpe, Lecturer at the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FEF), Prof. Dr. Muhammet Erat, Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cahide Sınmaz Sönmez and Lecturer Dr. Melek Kalınsalih, Mehmet Akif Ersoy's role in the War of Independence and his literary personality were discussed.
